Why do people chose domain name in .com?

Why do people chose domain name in .com? If anyone have specific reason for this then please reply me.

Now a days .com domain extension is widely used by the online people.because it is easily remember by the people.

.com domain name is oriented by worlds wide mean Globe domain name and most of people easily known .com domain that resign most of people want to register .com domain name.

The .com TLD (top-level domain) is by far the most widely accepted extension for a domain name. If you are looking for a domain name for a business.

The simple fact is that when people think of sites, they always type in .com. Yes, there are other extensions and .us, .net, .biz, etc., may seem unique, but it kills your traffic. Pavlov and his dog experiments had it right. People have been mentally conditioned to type in .com, so don't select any other ending.

It doesn't make much difference whether you choose .com or .net or any generic TLD. Now a day country specic extensions are available too.
