I think it depends on your purpose. You didn't mention if you are choosing a domain for SEO purposes, in which case you want you keyword(s) in the domain name.

If you don't need your keywords in the domain name, then you want something people can easily remember. A domain name of 3 or 4 short words is fine as long as your customers can remember it with no problem.

It's good if you are aiming on search engine traffic on long tail keywords

It's not good for aiming repeated traffic from previous customers.

I was taught 3 words domain is cool. 3 words domains that is exactly the same as your main keyword.
