IMO, its the best to use 15-25 characters for any domain which is really very easy and short to understand.

I can express the point that a good domain is good money in your pocket..
The domain should be short, memorable, descriptive and catchy..
Besides, you should reg domains via Accredited Registrar, like for instance Eurodns.com - I only reg domains via them.. they are trustworthy.

Hope it will help you.

The keyword in your .com domain name is the key, not how long the domain name is.These days it is really difficult (impossible) to get a great 1 word .com domain name.

If you aim to become a unique company, kind of Twitter, Facebook, Google, Yahoo then choose an easy read but unique name

If you aim for SEO then choose keyword related domain name even if it is long
This applies if most of your traffic will be through search engines and likely not having re-visitors

If you aim for easy to remember domain name for repeated business, short and easy to type/memorize is the key.
