I've often seen people offer coupons for popular domain registars like GoDaddy. How do they work? Is it like a affiliate or reseller?

It is not an affiliate program. It is a discount code. You enter this code if you sign up for an account. Otherwise you will be charged with the normal rate.

I have never entered a coupon before. How and where do they give? Like I have never seen anyone offering coupons openly, Is it only for some special people like frequent customers or you pay some fee to get such codes or etc? Please help.

some coupons are affiliate coupons, however many places (especially GoDaddy) have canceled these programs. Just use google to search for the couppns. I always receive emails from godaddy with coupons, usually weekly.
