Default What make a domain expensive/cheap?

As title says, what makes a domain expensive or cheap? Just the PR effect the price? I think that the name matters too? or not really? Please help me, thanks. I would like to know what things make a domain expensive.

Thanks

In this order

1.TLD
2.Actual Domain Name
3.PR

1. If a domain is a .com, it's automatically worth more than a .info, which are considered by many to be worthless

2. Dictionaryword.com's and LLL.com's have become very valuable

3. The Page Rank is the least important, because if you buy a domain, without the site, you're bound to have that Page Rank reduced or made obsolete if you don't keep relevant, interesting content on the site

AffiliateSeeking will become famous soon enough
Other than what jmul7 said, the links pointing to the domain may also help, plus how easy it is to remember. If the domain was previously used and was very popular then that will help as you're more likely to get direct type in traffic to it.

In the other hand, if the domain was used before and the person that owned it done some stuff that he/she shouldn't have done, that could in return decrease the value of the domain.

Also, if the domain is actually been around for a long period of time, the value can be much higher - since it will be indexed in google with high priority.

Will in my opinion the domains which are registered from long period of time they get higher offers because in this time period it will have lots of hits and serach results , and also most of the domains are expansive due to there unique names .

And the domains which are cheap just due to there meaningless and un-unique names .

Aside from the reasons mentioned, domain names have higher appraised value if these are acquired legally but are strongly desired by big business entities for business reasons.

I ahve generally seen that two or three letters domains are really hot. Four letters are also doing good. But most of the names have already been taken but still there are some left for people like us.

Hi ,

Personally i measure the value of a domain name based on 3 things

1. how many characters
2. easy to remember
3. appropriate for a site

If it has 3 characters it is really valuable , if it is easy to remember is again great as everybody will remember it (Google or Yahoo). If it is appropriate for a site , you cannot register HowAreYou.info for a Webmaster Forum

Thanks

Olgi
