Default what's up with .info prices?

anyone have any idea why .info domains are so cheap for the first year's registration (it's initial registration), but when you want to renew the , it's just as pricey as a .com or a .net?

i'd really like it if it wasn't like that and .infos stayed the same price. -.- just curious though! thanks in advanced for your replies!

In 9cubehosting.com .info price is 9 dollars per year. Here, the cost of the .com and .net is also same.

The initial low price is a customer acquisition strategy that's used by most registrars .. An extremely low intro price (as low as .50), but they jack up the prices the following year. You can see this with other TLD's as well, not just .info. Then you're signed up for autorenewal, and next year before you realize it, you're stuck with the higher price
At cosmotown we try to do the opposite. We don't have low intro rate specials, but our prices are extremely low, and they go down the longer you signup for.

I was impressed by the availability of discounts offered by Eurodns. You can visit their homepage and find them. Pricing is reasonable.
