Manual Directory Submissions or Auto submissions?
We all know that a lot of people offer Manual directory submissions where the submissions are done by hands manually and some also provide auto submissions to directories via scripts.
I would always choose manual submissions rather automatic. I kind of find auto submissions as spam and there is also very less chances of acceptances. I know a friend of mine whose website got banned from google after sometime of his auto submissions buying. I would never want that and so I stay away from them.

Always Manual and the main reason is as you said "Acceptance". Automatic Submissions will hardly get you any acceptances and it might also fail to submit to many directories because of the human identification image identifier.
And manual submissions look more serious than automated and many submitters offer some guaranteed submissions. So it is far better.

It's better with manual submission as it looks more natural to web crawlers. I think auto submission just doesn't work anymore because of image identifiers which are use to avoid spams.

manual submissions is much better because you know it is getting to the search engine in a personal matter not so much of a automated telemarketer kind of thing

Always remember that the very first rule for any webmaster is DO NOT SPAM. Automated submission is synonymous to spamming so be careful when you opt for an automated submitter. There are software however that allows you to save your web site information so you won't need to re-enter the same information over and over again as you hop from one directory to another.

I would certainly go for manual submissions. That way I am assured that each empty filled is correctly filled up. Unlike when you use bots, they may miss some fields which can result to your link being declined or disapproved.

I agree with the above replys.
Just one thing I would like to add is that certain manual submission services do use auto submission software (to keep the price down), so be careful if you do not intend on manually submitting yourself.

SEO is manual observation + skill.
There is nothing automated in SEO. You should always avoid automated submissions at every single cost.

Most directories consider automated submissions as spam.
Manual submission is still your best opt for two good reasons - you get to choose which directory to submit to and to what category your site would be more appropriate.

Go for manual
I would never consider automated submissions. You have a greater chance manually, although admittedly it is quite time consuming

Another point: When you submit manually, you can vary on the anchor texts. These will make the SE's see these backlinks as more natural.

I do a combo of manual and semi-automatic submissions. The big directories (the ones that cost $) get the manual submission. Other directories I use software.

That's a wise option Just remeber to check whether the semi-automated submission gets you in the right category to get more favorable results.

I've used automatic submitting tool. I don't want to say that all tolls are the same. But result was ZERO!

Manual submission is important because all directories, search engines, are not alike and only a trained human submitter can see the difference and submit accordingly. Automated submissions are mostly rejected.

It would be better to do manual submission so that you will know that you have submitted it all.

Certainly, it is better to do manual submission; this is the way where you can fill each and every field appropriately, on the contrary automated submission is not done with such technique.
