I also prefer manual submission, but can you really get banned from Google because you use auto submission?

I agree, I would also choose manual submissions over automatic, but I have a feeling some of these manual submitters are probably actually using automated methods and pretending they are not. Afterall it's more money for them and if they have a good automating method that's working for them, then that entices them to use that automating method to earn money quicker.
