does directory submission work for you ..?

I had one client site for two keywords I just did directory submission where for one keyword I only did article submission and press release and I get faster results in second case even the keyword was highly competitive ,what do u think about this ..?

as far i understand, for one keyword you did only directory submission, for another only article submission, and how many directories did you submit before you saw the result? I'm just new to seo, and at the moment i do only directory and social bookmarking sites submission..

Personally I never really 100% know if directory submission has worked for me because when ever I have launched a new website. I normally do various marketing tasks together. So I could do a bit of article marketing, directory submitting, viral marketing, etc.

you can use social networking sites to get more traffic to your keyword. make your profile there and promote them then add your link.

Yes why not directory submission is important and if we have the unique and useful data which can give the fast approval with the good page rank then surely the directory submission is useful and which can also help to generate the traffic on our site.

I think articles submission and blogs links worth is more then the directories submission. Try social sites and forums signatures too.

There are some article submission sites that combine Social Media with the submission. Everytime I publish an article on Ezine, it directs a Tweet to my Twitter account. It automatically starts a new tweet on my account, with the title of the article and a link back to the Ezine article.

Directories gives strong back links if they approved. But it takes a long time to approve. Many web directories are dead and they have no use. I think Article Submission and Blog Comments are very powerful than directory Submission.

Article submission is definitely more powerful than directory submission because your links are in-content links. This is highly looked upon by search engines. Where as website directories do not offer real value to visitors and links are been said to be devalued by the search engines especially Google. Of couse, don't just ignore directory submission, combine that with article submission, blog commenting, social bookmarking, etc to get the most for your site. One method alone will not get you far.

Directory submission work but it does provide much link juice so preferably better to target more textual backlinks.
