Default Do you pay for Links?

Hey,
I'm wondering how many of you pay for links in directories? I used to have a PR4 directory and out of 4000 sites submitted to it only about 3 paid the $3 to get a featured link which didn't seem that great

Nathan

So far, all my links are free. I have no plans of buying paid links. That's because I'm on a tight budget.

I dont pay for links but i consider paying in the future.Because it is very simple if you get a good backlink your site will get better in the future no doubt about this.

I tend to look for directories that offer free submissions rather then payed ones. My site doesn't generate much revenue so I can't really afford to be paying for directory spots.

Default Not me!

Hi

No I don't pay for link in directories, the main reason being that I heard Google are starting to penalise websites that do that since about Sept 2007. Besides it can start to get expensive.

I pay for links - site-wides, directories, reviews, etc. Only paid links that manipulate PR and SERP are the ones that google frowns at. Paid links can also be good sources of traffic - depending on which site you buy that link from
