DMoz is a human edited directory and Google always support the DMoz listing.
Not only every human edited directories are welcomed by Google. This is the reason why they take a long time in showing the post.

I personally think that many of the editorial people that decides to approve or decline sites also have their own websites listed there. This means there's less chance you'll get approved because your competition with them at the end of the day.

Try removing affiliate offers and only have minimal ads when you submit. Wait until it has been approved before you add more ads to your site. Because of this, it makes me wonder whether DMOZ is worth the trouble. Your site could be ads free for months or years before it's approved.

If you have a quality site you can wait 1-2 years for approval. Check carefully if you follow the terms of registration.

Dmoz directories are the the majority accepted and most presumed directories in search engine. in receipt of listed in Dmoz might be not easy but it can bring great results.

DMOZ is a reputable directory site that is why its very hard to have a site listed in them. That's also one of my problem though.

Forget it, its just a money making scheme anyway like all the other gazillion "directories" out there, its just some guy sat behind his computer whilst your paying him god knows how many bucks to drop some corny link that no one will ever click through, just gives you a tiny bit of link juice.
