Thumbs down Difference between Oracle and SQL

The Main and Important difference is that Mysql is open source that is free ..whereas Oracle is Paid and expensive.
MySQL Supports primitive data types,DATE,NUMBER and string. and time.
MySQL supports more types of tables than Oracle, including MyISAM, MERGE, ISAM, innoDB, BDB and HEAP.Unlike Oracle 9i database, MySQL allows INSERT statements with a VALUES clause to specify multiple sets of data to insert.

Oracle is the best database because it provides best database security and it also has best data recovery also known as rman. Even in the worst condition of data corruption its recovers the data properly

Oracle is mainly for enterprise customers, so it's really fast. But if you're doing a small site with just a few records, MySQL is the best and easiest. It's plenty fast too.

Oracle has something called Oracle Express Edition, and this edition is completely free of cost. Unfortunately, the edition has too much limitation with the features. It will cost you tens of thousands of dollars, if you go on to buy full featured standard edition or Enterprise edition while MySQL on the other hand is an open source database, and is completely free. The most famous social networking site called Facebook runs on MySQL.

MySQL is free and open source where as Oracle is expensive. Both are relational databases. I think Oracle is better for most of the large scale projects as it is used by larger organisations.
