The difference is in the way it costs you:
- CPC = Cost Per Click: It costs you per click
- CPM = Cost Per Mille: It costs you per 1 thousand of clicks

CPM is AKA CPT = Cost Per Thousand

Sincerely,
Leo

Hello....
CPM stands for cost per 1000 impressions. This means you’ll pay when people see your ad. When you set up your ad, your impressions will be optimized so your ad shows to people who are most likely to help you reach your goal.

CPC stands for cost per click. If you are paying for clicks, you’ll be charged each time someone clicks on your ad or sponsored story. When you pay for clicks, your ad will be shown to the people who are most likely to click on your ad.
Thnx....

When someone clicks on your ad. called Cost Per Click and when you pay up to your maximum bid each time your ad is shown 1,000 times called Cost Per Mile, no matter how many clicks you receive. CPM is more effective to get quality traffic.

CPC = cost per click
CPM = cost per thousand impression
If you are adsense user than with CPC you get paid for each click while with CPM indicates the value for each thousand impressions.

Default CPC and CPM

CPM, CPC, CPL, and CPA are all acronyms that are used to describe online marketing methods. All the methods are related, as they are the costs of having ads display on websites. How they differ is in how the cost of the ads is calculated.

CPM stands for Cost per 1000 Impressions (number of times the ad is shown) (M is Roman numeral for 1000). Generally display advertising (e.g. banners) is sold in CPM.

Whereas
CPC stands for Cost Per Click. Google Adwords made this model popular. Generally search and text advertising is sold by CPC model. In this kind of advertising model you just pay for number of clicks you get on your ads irrespective of number of impressions it takes to generate those clicks.
