Windows Vista
I'm still running XP on my computers, and so far everything I hear about Vista is less than flattering. I have to buy an new laptop soon and it will come preloaded with Vista. Do you use Vista and what is your opinion on it?

I have not bought vista yet. I've also heard many problems with it. I prefer to purchase it once it has been around for quite a while and is much more stable.

I have used vista on my friend's computer. As latest operating systems, it comes with chunks of features. It's pretty good looking and good user interface. Only trouble is that it uses much system resources. You need to have atleast 512mb ram to install and run it. It's worth to buy if your computer support it.

Well there are problems with every new OS (especially from MS), when it comes out and they'll be sorted out soon.
But as far as experiance with Vista isconcerned, I have used it but the interface didn't leave a very good first impression.

How is Windows Vista? I think Microsoft has suffered from loss of Windows Vista, Because i never hears anyone who is using Windows Vista, Everyone Uses Windows XP.

I think i will wait for Vista to have to be stable. I am currently using windows xp and i would hate to get an upgrade to Windows vista that will make me have trouble later.

My father purchased a laptop with XP in November so he qualifies for a free upgrade to Vista. He sent in the receipt and proof of purchase and what not, to Microsoft and they have been giving him the runaround about not being a valid receipt of something like that. Microsoft has terrible customer service in my opinion. As for Vista, I personally think I'm going to wait a little longer before I upgrade to it (I'm running XP).

Well, yesterday I went on a little shoping spree, after reading that Windows Vista is now safe to use.
Alright this is what I did, becasue I only had the computer specs of these:
512mb ram
512mb Grapthics card.
2.8ghz amd 64bit processer.
I went on a little shoping spree, poped down to the PC world and orderd the following parts in for tomorrow:
2x 2GB card
New M/b with intel 3.33ghz processer
Now, that should run Vista Home with some fast speed.

I don't used Windows Vista until now becase I have weak processor (AMD Sempron 2400+ and only 512MB RAM
I use Windows XP + Service Pack 2 and works very fine, is sufficient for me.
Maybe, in the future I will use Vista...

vista has a nice interface. It takes some time to get use to the office 07 and some other features. vista is a ram hog. you need at a minimum 1 gig ram I run 2 gig on my laptop and have decent speed.

Windows Vista is a line of operating systems[4] developed by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs, and media center PCs. Prior to its announcement on July 22, 2005, Windows Vista was known by its codename Longhorn.[5] Development was completed on November 8, 2006; over the following three months it was released in stages to computer hardware and software manufacturers, business customers, and retail channels. On January 30, 2007, it was released worldwide,[6] and was made available for purchase and download from Microsoft's website.[7] The release of Windows Vista came more than five years after the introduction of its predecessor, Windows XP, the longest time span between successive releases of Microsoft Windows.

It's not much different than Windows XP, albeit with a prettier skin.
The experience seems no more frustrating than my past usage of Windows. All of the normal Windows administration functions that I tend to use are were I expect them to be. Usability hasn't been degraded, nor does it seem to be improved much.
