Default feedwordpress or wp-o-matic

The ones here that have been using wordpress for a long time, I hope you can help with this. It might be simple to some of you but I am having a hard time understanding.

Okay, I see these two plugins called
1. feedwordpress
2. wp-o-matic

So my questions are this:

1. do you have to go around to other sites to see if they offer a feed then program your blog through this plugin to accept the feed

2. what does it mean these plugins are for auto content blogs
- you mean to tell me you just somehow set these up and content is continually added to your blog

I just can't get my head around this concept. Is it a good thing? Is this something I should try?

With these plug ins you'll have to select what post you want to publish in your blog by selecting their rss. Then automatically the post will be posted in your site but, still, when the reader clicks on the post it will be redirected to the original post.

I have used these plugins, and wp-o-matic and autoblogged are the best for what you're trying to do.

Basically, you go to another site, grab the RSS feed and paste it into the settings. Some of these tools allow you to simply enter a keyword and pull a certain amount of content from the web.

Is it a good thing? Depends on what you're trying to do with the site. I use these plugins on several sites that I don't bother updating anymore..they run on auto-pilot. Some people say you might face dupe content penalty, but I for one think this is a false notion, and have not seen any sandbox effect or anything negative.

I guess understanding the purpose of your site might help a bit more.
