Can wordpress do anything?

Hi,

Wanted to know if Wordpress can do all the things that joomla and drupal can do and is it going to that way in the future.

I don't know about it having all the same functionality, but it's a perfectly good CMS and I think it's fit for purpose.

I've used it to build a number of sites without any great difficulty.

WP is very easy to extend and use, so i think it best choice to build web site and contain almost all the functions if you know some coding, best thing is that its best for SEO

Short answer, no it isnt, joomla and drupal are far more robust. But in answer to yoour title, yes it can somethings, it can do alot infact. Its a useful publishing tool. It all depends what you want or need, first decide what you are after then way up the pros and cons, drupal is gonna get yoou there everytime, but not as quickly as you miight like.

I'm not sure on that but maybe it will. They are continuously doing new stuffs on wordpress.

Another thing that I like about the Wordpress is that the freedom from Wordpress Upgrades.

An advantage of hosting here is that they take care of all back end upgrades, bug fixes and security issues. So when a new Wordpress version is released, you need not go through the Wordpress upgrade routine everytime, it is done automatically without any FTP skills required.

Wordpress is good but can't do everything. joomla and all are open source and are very efficient to build additional features as per requirement.

However wordpress allows you to build all that stuff that a normal user can think about.

WordPress is getting there... but not quite there yet. It's a great CMS that is very intuitive (very much UNLIKE Joomla and Drupal). It has a much smaller learning curve. It does a lot of the same stuff that you can do in Joomla and Drupal. As a blogging platform it is without a doubt superior to the other two. It's development community support is growing very fast.

Big fan of WP. I have clients left and right who are dropping Joomla and converting their sites to WP.

This plugin allows you to hide your content, either partially or fully. Hidden text will become visible to the end user on password entry. Users will be instructed on how to retrieve password via an SMS payment.

Haven't used joomla and drupal, but has built many sites with wordpress, recently i was studying how to build a B2C shop site with wordpress.
