Newsletter with Joomla

I'm trying to set up a newsletter for a new site I'm launching using Joomla (the CMS) soon. Users can register through the site using the Joomla registration component, and I'd like to be able to send HTML newsletters out to all users.

I have very little knowledge of newsletters, but I'm ideally looking for something which I can have on-server, is free if possible, and runs in conjunction with Joomla so that I don't need to export data.

Is there something around which would suit my needs?

Check with Joomla if there is module for that. What I remember with Mambo which is a clone of Joomla is that it has an auto notifier to specific registered members if there are updates posted on the site.

Doesn’t joomla have this as a standard feature?

I haven’t worked with CMS’s, however in case of forums all most all of the forums scripts have at least basic mass email feature.

I just checked Joomla's updated features. You can install a third party newsletter component made for Joomla. This is free. You just Google the download link for this component.
