Even before the updates, people were talking abt duplicating content penalty which never existed. And now most are afraid of having duplicated content on their site as it will probably influence their SERPs.

Its not a sin to have duplicated content especially if it is of supreme quality and that has an excellent value that enriches the lives of people around the world. Because sharing is really a form of duplicating.

But it is so if you use unsyndicated duplicated content in hopes to rank your sites and drive traffic just to earn that couple of bucks without truly understanding the needs of your audience.

Well, the first principle of any type of good quality site is original content, so duplicates is never a great strategy.

Duplicate or low quality contents will decrease the rank of your site. So you need to write original contents.
