Choosing the Right Affiliate Program/Product...
When you research on what affiliate programs to go for, always take into consideration the market you are targeting - as they are the ones who will make the conversion on your site. Also, always try to pick one that you you have knowledge on. Providing more than the product itself is a big plus - useful info, good advice and post sale customer support will give you more customers via referrals.
After that, it would also depend on how you market your product to the right market. This is also a factor to be greatly considered in determining your success. IMO, when you want to earn big, you should be ready to spend for it as well.
I always opt for PayPerClick to reach my target audience. Knowing how this system works would work to your advantage. Research (keywords), Selection(keywords and PPC provider), Implementation (bidding and start-up) and Analysis (which keywords worked best and cost vs. revenue).
How do you choose yours? And how do you market them? Share in guys and gals

Hi...
Every product has its own demand, but we have to mainly concentrate on ROI(Return On Income).
You always need to know all the pros and cons about your product and do some research on it.

Anybody knows the tips to increase more conversion? It's Ok for me using PPC to our target audience, but converting to sale is different thing.

Please find the ROI maximum and look for the one who paid most in the last 3 months. That will definitely make you more.

That doesn't mean that if you see credit cards or mortgage programs you should jump in. That's over-saturated already so skip it. See what the big guys advertise but only go for niches ( pet food- Cuban cigars -whatever ) or go locally ( right in your neighborhood ) like: Fresno Chinese Restaurants.
See how that works.
Cheers!

If you decide to go for popular niches - be ready for a lot of competition. It does have a lot of potential but be sure you have the means to promote it and advertise it properly to get the right share on its market.

Research, if you can choose a product that you already have an interest in it helps with your content and then knowing your market - target market, and then putting the time in to reach that market.

I can see good advices here. Let me add " Remember to choose product that you feel right to promote, and you have interest in it" If you takeup something you dont like to use yourself, you will not be able to convince others for the product.
Great going

Flexible...
Also be flexible... give your strategy time.. but don't stick with a "dog" just because you feel comfortable with it.

Obviously promote those which you believe in. Going off track can never be helpful.

Hi,
Absolutely, market research has to be carried out in detail but many affiliate marketers especially newbies skip this step and they move on only to see their offers are dud. By the time they realize it they lost a lot of money on promoting those offers.

Consider building a multiple niches website. That way you can increase your target group. If someone is in a shopping mood, it's great to have a lot of different types of products to offer. I would make sure that the products are somehow related to each other. I don't think that people who are looking for a car insurance are also interested in buying cat food at that moment, but they might like to be interested in car accessories for instance.

Very true. In order to understand which affiliate program is the best, I guess, the best way is to put yourself in the customer's shoes. Would you buy the product? What would be the features to attract you? Which things would you dislike? Affiliate marketing is a lot to do with research.

Good tips are there in this thread.
Just like any other business or profit-making venture, the first method to go through to become an affiliate is the planning stage. In the planning stage, your main aim is to figure out what it is you want to market, advertise, and become an affiliate for. This is an important step in the process, because it will dictate your direction for your entire affiliate marketing venture. Try to choose a market that is healthy, not too dominated by competition, and something that you are passionate or at least interested in.

Yes sometimes its beneficial. You never know which one person out of the masses might become a potential customer for your product. It is definitely the need of the hour to reach out to the masses in order to gain more potential customers....
