Thank you. Perhaps your next question is what makes a good network for both the advertisers and the affiliates.

Alexis, if you want to get more answers to your questions try to ask the same question to other people in other forums or to the affiliate marketing experts.

I think the training
some of us could not follow up correctly with new signups, so if the program has a good follow up training it will be great

If you have an excellent affiliate marketing management team that can police all of your campaigns and can regularly work on the applications, this shouldn't be a problem.

I would add a little more to it:
For the pubs:
1- Great/best payouts is definitely important
2- Dedicated on-site consultants who offer free advices & Strategies
3- Affiliate network with lots of exclusives
4- Quality/fortune 500 offers
5- Offer free tools, templates, and scripts
For the advertisers:
1- Offer quality traffic
2- Has a team of Marketing Experts
3- Has an established Global Networ of Exclusive Publishers
4- THE MOST IMPORTANT: HAS A TEAM OF COMPLIANCY EXPERTS TO PROTECT ADVERTISER'S BRAND AND INVESTMENT
If you need more info or more detail explanations, feel free to pm me or aim me.
Best of luck in your research,
Clickbooth Nad

you know the #1 affiliate program for 2007 it was simply the product.
when you have a demand on the products and can sell it easy with more than 20% commission then this affiliate program is a success.

CBNad mentioned it all.
jossef, more than 20% commission per sale? I'm just asking because 20% commission is really big or am I missing something here.

I will give you for E.G 2 of the best programs out there:
1. sitesell : great great product with high demand and repeat customers, and they pay you 25%. about 75$
2. forex. It is a service not a product and it gives you 10% per referal but that 10% can reach 250$. although it is not high demand service but it can be very profitable.
the top 2 in arabian-affiliate.com
so if you want to put effort in promoting affiliate program (not network) with products not more than 60$ a 20% will be very small fee for your effort even for products that can reach 100$.
in marketing companies are investing 40% of the end value of their products in marketing. in affiliate programs you are the marketing.

There may be sites that offer well more than that but if one product is worth of $5 and a second one is worth of 50$... now the 20% are actually different one from another..right?
For example: I work with calling cards programs and found one that sells mostly $20 and $50 cards and gives away 25%-30% depending on volume(nobelcom.com) but also programs that go for $5-$10 cards and share a 10%-13% commission(comfi.com).Now the thing is that they both go for 10% for returning customers so the question is: do you want 10% out of $5 or would you rather 10% out of $50?
Very strong point here:
A good Affiliate Program must give away LifeTime commission! Once you signed up a customer you should get commissioned whenever he comes back for a new purchase.
PM for more info on this!

I would add for the advertisers you should provides various marketing tools. They are : web templates, rss feeds, banners, flash banners, wordpress plug-ins, email marketing templates, etc. Also real-time reporting stats is very useful to the marketers.
