It all depends on the topic of your website. For example I am making some money on my personal blog with amazon just by displaying the books that I am reading and the music that I am listening.
For such a blog amazon is great.

What about an affiliate program that lets you join in all of its other programs in just one sign up?

I think Tradedoubler is not bad. Amazon is not good for me. I haven't made any money from Amazon so far. I will recommend Tradedoubler.

AffiliateSeeking will become famous soon enough
It's an affiliate network. There is some informaton about somewhere in the affiliate networks category of the affiliate programs directory section of this site.

Also, if you go to tradedoubler and look at the site and read what it's about there, then I'm sure you will get a good understanding of what they do. Tradedoubler is one of the UK's biggest affiliate network. I think it also caters for some other European Countries aswell.

It also has a section of the site where you can easily grab datafeeds from various merchants within their network which is good if you want to make a product site.

As usual with most affiliate networks, all your earnings from each merchant gets consolidated into one check which is paid to your monthly once you reach their minimum payout amount.

I only go for niches.
I am almost making as much as I earn in my day job out of Skype and calling cards.
I know the $ part is not impressive with the smaller sites- but with some work you can build 20-30 websites and then you only have to wait for the money to flow.
Best pay-out so far is nobelcom.com
Said this in some other threads around- but they really have a good affiliate program.

You need to find a network that offers what you want, the niche you want to advertise and the payment scheme that works for you. If you have friends already doing the same thing speak to them about personal experiences bad points vs good points

ReferForex worked best for me as i had no capital to start this work. And this program does not need this. We just have to get registered there and choose our favorite banner. After that we have to place that banner on our wedsite of blog and enjoy commision on every clicks.

I found this during my course of finding good platform for forex trading
