Importance of Branded pharmaceutical products

Many of affiliates under pharmaceutical domain, are confused between generic and branded products.

Any manufacturer when develops a medicine, gets a patent for its brand. For example Xenical is a brand having Orlistat as it's ingredients. After the patent get expire (after few years), other manufactures are allowed to produce similar medicine. Which are actually generic medicines. Using generic medicine is of no harm to any patient or customer.

However, since there are many online pharmacies selling or promoting generic drugs, one has to be sure whether they are really generic or they are actually a fake medicine.

So always check for pharmacies from which they are delivering drugs.

Apart from that affiliates will have to take care of one thing is that, major pharmacies are not registered to various regulation bodies. In spite of not being registered they are promoting/selling generic products. Affiliating to those sites is actually a crime.

Apart from that hardly any sites provide legal information about their sites. So whenever you are looking at any site check for legal information link. Sites that are not registered or does not provide legal information may get some sale and get closed. Affiliates won't get there money, as no policy or legal information is mentioned on their sites. Also customer gets fake medicine.

You will always find some sites committing that they promote or sell generic and genuine medicines. But if they are not registered online pharmacies or if they are online clinic promoting registered pharmacies, you should not buy drugs from it. And even affiliates should not link with them.

This is my first post, without introducing I am writing this because when i searched for generic v/s branded, i found your such informative post and i replied to it.

Thanks Paul for sharing such a important fact about affiliate programs of pharmaceutical industry.

I was going to join an affiliate program of one of the generic products selling website. And i found that there was no information regarding registered pharmacy or any legal information.

Then i visited site mentioned by you, and was surprise to see legal information link, which till now i have never found on many of the merchant's sites.

I found your affiliate program very interesting but will have an another look just to get confirm. And let you know further.
