I agree with you . One can not be successful without hard work in affiliate marketing. Though affiliating marketing is not a rocket science but one has to work really hard..

Thats right!!! If you truly want to become successful at affiliate marketing then you need to work at it consistently. Yes, it is hard work to start with. However if set up right, each niche website will go on earning an income with little maintenance, meaning that overtime your income will build. Plus you will have the benefit of a lifestyle where you are your own boss, can work when and where you want and never have to commute.

I'm very new to this whole idea of affiliate marketing and I'm not sure how I can apply it. I am a little lost...specifically I deal with insurance agents, some of who have their own website but they're all local (they can only write in a certain state). Anyone know where I should start?

Hi,

Without website traffic, you will be unable to make any sales - no matter how great your affiliate products are. It is therefore crucial to learn and apply proven internet marketing strategies to build traffic and encourage those visitors to click on your affiliate links. Internet marketing begins with website design, content and search engine optimization strategies (SEO). Your website needs to be easy to navigate, focused on one particular niche (although it can include sub-categories), contain unique, relevant and useful content which is updated regularly and optimized for search engines by using (but not overusing) keywords related to your page content. Once you have created your website you can implement traffic building strategies such as article marketing, paid search engine listings, press releases (where appropriate), write blogs related to your subject and link back to your website (also have direct affiliate links on your blog), and engage in social networking sites such as Facebook.

These are basic starting points for generating website traffic that is targeted and likely to be interested in one or more of the affiliate products you are promoting. There are plenty of online resources that can teach you how to apply these various strategies to promote your site and increase your affiliate marketing referrals.

I agree that quality traffic is very important to make sales but it is not the only factor that makes more sales. Many other factors like sales copy, sticky landing page, content are equally important .

Thats good. Even i feel affiliate have far more opportunities than adsense. Infact i feel people should go about promoting 2-3 affiliate at a time rather than one as this gives more opportunity to earn and people alots get choices in their purchase.

Regards

Good for you Schzeb. Here is what I learned when I dabbled with adsense and affiliate programmes. Affiliate programme is really a business you can built upon in the long term. Adsense does not provide that kind of income stability due to constant change in google policies and them not being transparent enough. I regard them as my supplementary income. Comments?

The biggest thing I push with our affiliate partners is testing. Do not assume you fully understand your traffic and what will convert, until you have tested like crazy. IMO.

What is your niche? Try Googleing = (your niche) + affiliate and you can find affiliate programs that meet your niche. But no matter what your niche is you won't make any money unless you can start driving some good traffic. Stay on top of your SEO efforts and your traffic will start flowing slowly but surely.

Regards,
