3ways that will help you get better results are:

1. Optimize the Title Tag on your website. It goes between The "head tags"
Looks like this <head> <title>Your Title</title> </head>

2. Get quality Backlinks from sites that are related to yours.

3 Optimize your Anchor Text For example, if your selling woodworking workshops. don't use: "Click Here" to learn about ----. Instead use;
Click This Link to "Learn About ----"

As previously mentioned, SEO is a skill that needs to be learned but if you have a Wordpress site it is much easier in my opinion. As well as your header tag you should look to have your main keyword phrase displayed in at least 5 places on your front page.

There should not be confusion about it. It is better to be more practical. However:

1- Article submission
2- Forums
3- Blog Comments
4- Social Bookmarking.

Should be part and parcel of SEO campaign. But that should be done after On-page optimization.

Sometimes, people hesitate the other time we dont practice the trick that has magic sense. Google Panda does not like anything it hates unreasonable and duplicity. Getting backlinks from .edu sites and article directories help in a sense when we are truly talking about online business development.

site architecture...including an "about us" and "contact page" helps as well because it shows the legitimacy of the site. Original content on the site is a MUST. Then its about creating relevant backlinks to your site.
