I find that I am becoming complacent and lazy when it comes to finding revenue on my sites. I seem to spend far too much time worrying about adsense rather than focusing on my core products.
I used to do well with the products and affiliates because I worked at making the right presentation for conversions.
Now I find I sit here waiting for clicks and instant revenue through adsense. If I got back into the groove again, I think I would make more money.
I like Adsense, but it's never a good idea to put all of your eggs in one basket. With the way that Adsense is known to cancel accounts for imaginary click fraud it would be wise to make sure you have as many revenue streams as possible to fall back on. I agree when things are going well it's hard to motivate yourself, but to me enough money is never enough.
It is never a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket. The more baskets you have the better. This most probably happens to people every day around the world where they are very happy that they are earning so much from an online affiliate program and then suddenly the affiliate program finishes or your account gets closed, etc. Once that happens your smiles will soon go away.
It is best to mainly focus on the best earning affiliate program, but also try to work with others at the same time.
That also goes with sites. It is never best to just have one site, but then it is also best to not have to many just so that you can manage them all.

Due to the niche of my main forum, I cannot and do not want to participate in Affiliate networks and due to this I am stuck with Adsense. And Wesley you are right, seeing those clicks pile up becomes a kind of obsession and I usually find myself checking the stats every few hours.
I used to spend more time watching my adsense than actually working so I got the adsense extension for firefox and I started using adbrite more so now even if google ban me for some strange reason I wont be left revenue-less.
I have heard of this adsense extension, however is it safe?
I mean you are submitting your login information to a third party plugin, which might just have a back door built in to send your information to some one else.
I've also heard about this adsense extension plugin. I have never tired it or even seen it working.
But I am sure that if you asked Adsense about it then they will tell you if it is safe or not. If it is listed as a plugin on Google's site then I guess it would be safe to use. If it was not save them Google would have found out about it by now as many of the users would have told them about it.
It's always best to check with Google Adsense though just to make sure. There is no harm in asking if unsure of something.

Its listed on the mozilla site so I doubt it has a backdoor and it does work it displays impressions, clicks, ctr, cpm, total, rpc and updates every 15 minutes, Its very useful those of us who check adsense every five seconds.
