An Adsense alternative!
Heres a little review to help you on your 'adventure' as some might say, to finding an adsense alternative.
I am going to review you on 3 PPC/CPM advertising companies.
Adbrite: With adbrite it starts with CPM, if you have quite a low traffic'd website then this is the option for you. Adbrite pay you for how many visitors you have a day.. The payout is Average, can be from $0.01 - $0.14 per 1000vistors and/or click. They pay through check only which is abit annnoying as id much rather prefer money into my bank or through paypal.
Bidvertiser: Bidvertiser on the other hand are a PPC company.. The Advantages with Bidvertiser are, they pay through Bank or Paypal. They do Normally stick to targetted ads. Disadvantages.. Sadly the payout for each click is terrible! They don't record every click either so you havn't got much of a chance making $$$ with bidvertiser, unless ofcourse you get about 10000000000 clicks a day lol.
Exoclick: I currently am testing Exoclick out on my forum, so far i am fairly happy. They have images next to the text which is also quite attractive for users. Payout isn't that great, normally about $0.01 but i think that depends where the traffic your getting is from, and what ads you've got up.. Adult ads are very low paying as these are most popular.
Overall for a starting website or even an extremley high traffic'd site, i would personally go for Adbrite.
They are fairly reliable and probably the next best thing to adsense.
Hope this review helped!
Thanks

Thx very much for sharing your experience. I have adbrite on my adult sites and find it works well.
But my mainstream sites are another problem. The ads are not targetted and are very run of the mill. They are ads that everyone sees everywhere else and to be honest, most of my users did not come to my site for that.
I think I will stick to adbrite for risque stuff and I am going to give Exoclick a whirl on a couple pet sites.

I think you must add, contextual Link advts schmes like Kontera to this.
Kontera works great for many - especially with good traffic.

Thanks for the review mate, I have been wondering about Adbrite lately. Good to see all the other alternatives too, hopefully I can get out of this vicious adsense cycle I'm stuck in!

Chitika eminimalls is another alternative . But it can be displayed on your site with Google Adsense since it does not violate the latter's terms of service. I heard success stories in using both both programs.

Does any one knows if any of these networks has enough advertisers from India or not, because this is the single biggest thing I am worried about when I think about switching to another network.

I haven't heard much good about ExoClick. Apparently when the payment cycle comes round they'll ban your account (for any given reason) or wipe the funds entirely without any explanation.

Because most of the pageviews on my proxies are from return visitors I dont get many clicks so adbrite really saves me, I just wish it didnt take so long for cpm's to start showing up in the rotation.

I would be very careful with Adbrite, as they are owned by AVN and an extremely shady company even by adult standards. The reason I say so is I own a few adult blogs, and Adbrite doesn't care who they take on as advertisers. This triggers the dangerous website/not recommended to visit filter that is built into Internet Explorer when certain ads are displayed.

Which is why I go through the ads that show on my site and reject all the ads that I dont want showing up on my site.

If you are only using Adbrite for your adult sites the way I see it there are so many better ways to monetize your traffic than Adbrite, and they are much more lucrative. To me on adult sites Adbrite just constitutes a large traffic leak.

I thought Adbright wasn’t meant for adult site, if I remember it correctly, I had read this somewhere in their TOS.
Also does it have some filters to ensure adult ads are not shown on no adult sites?

I dont have adult sites, its for my proxy.
@yogesh: Adbrite does have an option to disallow "edgier" from showing on your site.

There is no alternative, adsense is the ppc king. Adbrite has given me a poor 47 cents from a few months of using with a site that has 300 impressions a day. Whereas adsense has given me $44 for a site with similiar traffic stats. Bidvertizer is a no go, they don't pay , well they took my money away.

I tried all the above for reasonable time and they can NEVER be compared to adsense. They all are very poor. I have done case study with all the above and also made a report.........
Kontera beats all of them quite easily.
