Well, mine is worse than u, but I have got some tips to increase the CTR, and I want to share it with u!

One of the best tricks is to erase the borders of Adsense ads and make them, again, having the same color with your website’s background.

Even if you have the best Ad, people will not respond if they don’t see it instantly. The best place to see the ad is the top of your web page and the next is aside your document’s text. Visitors will click it more frequently since it will look like your text.

I erase the borders of my ad and make it similar to the background of my blog. This will defintily draw more clicks as people will read it.

Don't think it would be against the rules of Google as all it's considered doing is blending the ads in with your websites content.

Many sites don't have the borders around the ads and also use the same text font color as their sites link font colors and text colors.

I've got an average of 6.7% CTR. That is, I blend the background color of my ads to my site's bg color, the ad links' color to the color of the links in my site and the ad text color to the text color of my site. I also placed the ads above the fold so it would be more visible to the visitors and I get more clicks. Further, blending the color of the ads to the content's colors does not violate any of the Adsense TOS.
