escrow and chargebacks
Although escrow sites are not technically payment processors, they are a method of getting paid for sales. (which is why I placed this here)
I am wondering how secure escrow sites really are for the seller. I do not think the buyer has any risk because his/her money is held until he acknowledges that he/she has received the product.
But for the seller, there is still the risk of chargeback. Escrow dot com accepts all credit cards and anybody can say they didn't charge something months later.
Who loses in this scenario. Does escrow take the loss? Do they collect the monies from the seller and the seller loses the money and the goods?
Any experiences to share?
