Mostly, some affiliate programs have their own criteria before accepting your application. Some of them would require your site with the following:
1. a PR of 2 or above
2. high amount of monthly traffic and impressions
3. site written in English
4. no pornographic sites
5. sites containing pop-ups
Although some would instantly accept applications while others require a reciprocal link or a widget installed on your site. Hope this one helps.
