Personally it could be a waste of money or it could not. The reason for this is because lauching with ShareASale doesn't mean you will start getting sale after sale even if you get a lot of exposure for your products/services.
In other words, it's up to you to actually turn your traffic to sales, now if your site looks rubbish or your products are over priced, then why would people want to buy them. So it's not just ShareASale, the amount of success you get from using ShareASale also depends on your sites quality, your service, etc.
Now even using ShareASale, it's best to offer many things like datafeeds, different sized banners, even a 2 tier program can help a bit. Auto Deposit feature is also a good thing to use as many publishers only choose merchants that has that enabled.
