A website will definitely improve your long term business goals and increase your profits but I don't believe that a website is the best way to start for an internet newbie marketer. Only because affiliate programs generally come with all the sales tools already set up and effective. When you're learning online marketing the most important thing is to start making money and affiliate marketing without a website is the quickest way to do that. A website can then be developed when you are more experienced in writing sales pages etc. My opinion only.
