If you have been on the internet for long, you have probably heard the term social media more than once. 90% of people 40 and under no longer use the yellow pages as a means to find products and services but actually rely on the internet instead. Sadly, it is quite common for a business to fall short of their internet marketing efforts which is a terrible mistake. Social media marketing is a large part of Internet business and should not be overlooked. Your Social media profile is extremely important.

1. First on the list is to create a Facebook fan page. It can be a truly beneficial marketing tool because it ranks high in search engines. A fan page will give you the opportunity to tell all of your prospective customers about your business and also allows you to leave a link to your website. Furthermore, it is a great way to stay in touch with your fans while creating a community around the product. A Facebook fan page is one of the number one ways to create a network that will grow as your fans participate and comment on your fan page. This fan page is an excellent way to build a brand for your website.

2. Second, create a twitter account. Twitter may seem a little silly at first. However, the truth is that twitter is an excellent way for a new business to get off the ground. They can provide you with traffic, content, and a way to promote new services. When you create your profile, think carefully about the profile name you choose. It would be most beneficial to choose a profile that contains the name of your company or website. In this way, those that follow you will begin to easily recognize your brand and service. Remember to include a link back to your website. Furthermore, get people to follow you by following them first. This can be done by choosing people that are within your niche. Also, this profile is most beneficial if it is not used just for your own promotions, but rather as a forum for discussions between like people.

3. Third, create a LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn is similar to Facebook in the way that it provides excellent networking opportunity. LinkedIn is a social network site for professionals. It will leave you the opportunity to provide links to your website, discuss products and services that you offer, offer details of your skills and techniques, and meet other individuals that need your services or provide services that are needed by you. Because of the potential professional networks within this website, LinkedIn is an important social media marketing spot.
