Every single day, people from all walks of life do business, be it thru promotion, management or as a client. It's undeniable that the client can make or break a company's status in the economy. We need to ask ourselves, how the online commerce came into being when traditional commerce has been doing fine on its own merits.

The Ecommerce development or electronic commerce is the process of handling and doing transactions electronically using technology thru fund transfers or sending purchase order documents. It can also include the buying and selling of goods over the worldwide web, credit card transactions, telephone banking, data warehousing and data mining. The ecommerce development was foreseen to become a major economic factor by enthusiasts and journalists alike but it the forecast didn't materialize right away since the secure connections like HTTPS was fully developed and enhanced four years after the forecast was made.

The traditional businesses who have created a niche in a traditional commerce development setting found the Internet an opportunity to venture into ecommerce, giving their existing customers the convenience of shopping online and at the same time, gathering a new set of clients with the help of the visibility of their ecommerce development venture to the rest of the world. Because of the ecommerce development, barriers have been lowered allowing small time retailers to show their goods and services over the Internet, promoting the entrepreneurial skill and marketing strategy put into good use. The pure e-commerce companies who collapsed during the dot com era paved the way for the traditional commerce sector to venture into ecommerce development.

There are reasons why the ecommerce development took a while to sink in to most consumers, like security concerns or identity theft and fraud issues, turnaround time of the delivery of goods, instant gratification and others. But these reasons don't stop the ecommerce development from growing now that there are certification authorities to ascertain the credibility and integrity of the e-businesses in credit card transactions and fund transfers while most e-businesses provide employment to stay home parents, retired adults, or anyone in search for an extra income.

Day by day, e-commerce development is taking leaps in bounds, continuously enhancing and developing to provide ease, comfort and ensure security and credibility in transactions made online. Though some people prefer to do their shopping and groceries online yet there are still some who would like to experience the whole hoopla of shopping, socializing with other people and personally see the goods and services displayed.

E-commerce development has taken a number of followers because of the advantages it present. As social beings, let us not forget that we need to get out in the open as much as we can to enjoy the company of other people and widening our horizons the Internet can't provide.
