1. Create a customer base
This is the most important thing for advertising your business. You will need a group of people who trust your business and support you loyally. Once you have a handful then get them involved. This can be their reward for using your company. They get to make money by selling some products for you.
2. Choose a program
Choosing an affiliate program can be hard, as there are many great, interesting ones to use, but rather start off with the simplest one. Let them buy whichever products they think they can sell, and then pay them a commission from their sales. They will soon come back to buy more.
3. Create a program online
You can introduce your business to people online, as people are reluctant to go door to door or have special product evenings. This program can be done by a web master and can have features like automatic emails, a URL for the affiliates own web store, which they must advertise, and the affiliate's own member page with news and information.
4. Keep contact
Your affiliates might not all be experienced sales people. Some might not be internet savvy. You will need to keep encouraging them and giving them tips on how to go about making sales with their new business. They will feel more confident if they can turn to someone for help.
5. Introduce incentives
This can be done once things pick up a bit, and you can see that the affiliates are doing well. They might begin to find their new job great as it gives them a lot of free time, so keep pushing them so they do not get slack. Give bonuses for the most sales in a month, and discounts for the person who gets the most affiliates under his or her name. Competition in any company is good.
6. Advertise for more affiliates
If you feel you could do with more affiliates, then you can also advertise for them. Keep placing ads on job opportunity sites and encourage your affiliates to get others to join up, also by having an incentive of some kind.
7. Know your budget
Make sure that the price you sell your stock to the affiliates for, is cheap enough to allow them to make money, but not too cheap so that you cannot see a great profit. Making a budget plan is essential. You must also work out how sales will go once more and more people join. Is your difference in selling and buying price too high or too low?
8. Software
You can get software to help you with an online business. Look for software to help you with automatic emails or other time saving but personal features.
9. Products
If you sell products make sure that you have a storage facility if affiliates are collecting bulk loads at a time. Online, you can simply have the affiliates store linked to your store, so all they have to do is get the people to go to the website. You will then deal with customers directly.
10. Services
If you are offering services, then only pay affiliates when a customer actually hires you for a job. Do not lay out money if you are not making any.
